JAKARTA - Upset emerged on the second day of the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2016, Tuesday (31/5). The upset was coming from the mixed doubles. An undseeded Indonesian pair, Alfian Eko

Prasetyo/Annisa Saufika, surprisingly defeated the tournament's seventh seeded, Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock.

Alfian/Anisa secured their victory after winning the three game match at the Senayan Staidum. Alfian/Anisa took the lead in the first game with slight scores, 24-22.

Unfortunately, they could not take an advantage of their lead as they lost the second game, 18-21. However, they made their comeback in the third game and finally overcame their opponents, 21-16.

“In the second game we were losing focus. Our key to victory on the other hand was to keep giving pressure and lowering the rallies and attacking," Anisa said after the match.

Meanwhile, Chris who married to Gabrielle Adcock in 2013 said that they lost the game because they didn't perform optimally.

“Today we played poorly. Our opponent also played well. They could deal with the court better today," said Chris.

In the second round, Alfian/Annisa has been awaited by a dutch pair, Jacoo Arends/Selena Piek. They secured their ticket to the second round after defeating South Korean's doubles, Yoo Yeon Seong/Chang Ye Na in a two game straight match, 21-19 and 21-13.

“For the tomorrow's match, we will try to perform better abd we want to get the best result here, like being in quarter final, semifinal, or even final, why not?" Alfian stated.
