BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 Is Ready to Launch

As many as 310 badminton players form 21 countries are set to play at the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 which will be held at Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), June 12 - 18.

The best badminton players will fight for 1 million us dolar prize money, or 13.5 billion rupiahs. The prize money is the highest in this year's superseries, which is equal as Dubai Superseries Final's prize money next December. The prize money is higher than the last year's which was 900.000 dollars or 12 billion rupiahs.

"Beside the increasing prize money to more than 13 billion rupiahs, the Indonesia Open is a prestigious tourney for best players. This is the best tournament with the most visitors, thus they attract players," Yoppy Rosimin said in a press conference at Kempinski Hotel, Monday (22/5).

The most prestigious badminton tournament in Indonesia will also be slightly different from the previous one. Unlike the previous events, this time the tournament will be held at Plenary Hall, JCC instead of Istora Senayan.

Moreover, Yoppy addressed this venue shift from Istora to JCC is resulted from Istora Senayan renovation to get ready for the 2018 Asian Games.

"We had to move to JCC. Unlike at Istora where we had four courts, this year we will only use three due to the venue limitation," said Yoppy.

Yoppy explained the shift has been through many long processes and been verified by BWF as the highest governing body.

Meanwhile, this year's BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 is expected to be a momentum for the home team to achieve the best results. PBSI aims one title from men's doubles as Ricky Subagja, the head of PR and Media Relation of PBSI, stated.

"From five sectors, men's doubles has the most promising prospects to make good achievements, especially Kevin/Gideon. The target this year is not easy, but this doesn't stop us to look from other sectors. One thing for sure, we set one target," said Ricky Subagja.

Tickets are available online on blibli.com since last April 21, 2017. Tickets are also available at the ticket box at JCC on match days. The tickets are selling starting at 35.000 IDR and the all access tickets are selling starting at 1,5 million IDR in three categories; VVIP, VIP A, and VIP B.
