Jakarta | The wife-husband pair from England, Chris Adcock/Gabrialle Adcock show their self-confidence to play in Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. The Adcock Duo is very optimistic that they can conquer the fierce competition among the World’s best Mixed Doubles pairs in Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

“We started the year pretty well and it has been our mission to win when we come here. We are very happy every time we play in Istora, because we know there will be a lot of people that will support us here,” said Gabrielle Adcock after the match in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7).

Adcock/Adcock is confirmed to reach the second round of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 after receiving a given victory after the third seeded pair from Japan, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino decided to end the match early after receiving an injury in the seventh minute of the game when score was at 11-6.

Although The Adcock Duo grabbed the win, the pair claims that they are far from satisfied. “We are happy to reach the next round, but we don’t feel satisfied as we are through because our opponent receives an injury. But this is the result, although we have tried our best but it all comes back to what happens during the match,” She said.

This win automatically adjusts the meeting record between Adcock/Adcock and Yuta/Arisa to be 1-3 from the last four meetings between the two.

Adcock/Adcock will still have to wait to find out whether they will play Rodion Alimov/Alina Davtelova from Russia or Sam Magee/Chloe Magee from Ireland in the Round of 16. Chris Adcock also adds that he will see the match to find out who will they play against later. “For Today we want to see the other matches first,” Chris Adcock said.
