The Rio 2016 Olympic gold medalist, Chen Long (China), had to end his journey in the quarter-final of BCA Indonesia Superseries Premier Open 2017, Friday afternoon (16/6).

Chen Long, the eighth seeded, was overcome by a non-seeded Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar from India. This is Chen Long's first defeat from the Indian Player although Chen Long always won in the last three meetings.

Chen Long lost in a rubber battle. Chen Long's lost in the first game 18-21. In the second game, Chen Long managed to grab a win, 21-16. However in the ultimate set, Chen Long closely defeated 19-21 in the 75th minute.

"I've met him before. Prannoy is playing better and more patient today. But I am satisfied with my performance. I played pretty well and probably almost 90% of my best." Chen Long said.

"My opponents and I played at JCC arena for the first time. Luck factor was there. Be it a top player or an average one, everyone is losing and winning. My initial target in Indonesia was just collecting points, not aiming for champion," he ended.
