"We feel that we did the best we could and we fought 100 percent. This game is a very interesting one for us with that support from most supporters although we were not competing our own country," said Jia after the game.
This pair previously have met eight times. Six of them were won by the Chinese pair and the other two were won by the Korean pair. However, the Korean pair was able to subdue the Chinese pair the last time they met at the Sudirman Cup.
"We feel that it has been only a week break since the Sudirman Cup, and we feel there is no change. Maybe the Korean pair was under pressured while we could turn that pressure as a motivation to win," said Jia.
Chen still has a chance to win another title at the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 from mixed doubles with Zheng Siwei. She also said she played the best she could with all her abilities.
"Our performance meets the expectations and it worked 100 percent. And I am happy to satisfy our supporters," said Chen.
This is the first Superseries Premier title for Chen / Jia this year after they achieved two titles at the Thailand Masters 2017 and at the Swiss Open 2017.
