Thanks to Senayan's "support", Lee/Yoo played brilliantly and defeated the Danish pair in a two game match, 21-16 and 21-14. The Senayan crowd seemed unwilling to see the Danish pair grabbed a victory in Jakarta. This happened in Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong's match yesterday afternoon.
Indonesian badminton fans may still have the grudge after the home team slightly lost 2-3 at Thomas Cup two weeks earlier. Hence it might the reason why the Senayan crowd was united to chant Lee/Yoo.
“In the beginning of the match we played well. We were nervous but we kept on trying to play without pressure and pressing them. Te strategy worked for us," Lee said after the match.
“The wind was indeed blowing fast, we were lacking a bit focus in the beginning. I played below par, but Lee could take over my position," Yoo said.
Commenting on the crowd's support for him, he thanked to them. “I thank to my supporters although such support sometimes gave me pressure since whenever they support me that means I am responsible to win here," he ended.
