The Indian player, Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar, made another upset on the fifth day of BCA Indonesia Superseries Premier Open 2017 after in the second round on Thursday (15/6) beating a Malaysian top seed Lee Chong Wei. In the quarter-final on Friday (16/6) afternoon, it was the 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist who became Prannoy's victim.

It is not easy for Prannoy to beat this Chinese player. Of four meetings, only this time did Prannoy could beat Chen Long although it was not easy.

Playing in the court number one at Plenary Hall Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Prannoy had to work hard and fight a three-game drama. Prannoy took a sheer amount of time to finish it; one hour and fifteen minutes, 21-18, 16-21 and 21-19.

"The game was pretty exhausting. Chen Long is quite tough to tame. But I was quite confident and I am happy with what I have achieved," said Prannoy.

"I honestly had no special preparation for the match since I had met him three times," he added.

Qualifying for the semifinal, Prannoy is still awaiting the winner between Japanese player Kazumasa Sakai and Rajiv Ouseph of England.
