The Istora Senayan will be revamped as said by Budiharto, though Jakarta will still be the place for the Indonesia Open. The improper facilities and infrastructures of sports centres in other cities is said to be the reason why Jakarta is still the best option.
“Indonesia Open 2017 will not be moved anywhere outside Jakarta. We attempt to find a new location, Darren Parks (Events Director of BWF) has observed several locations yet there has been no decision made. The main challenge is a stadium capacity. The location has not been announced yet, but it is still near Senayan,” Budiharto said.
Meanwhile, BCA stated they will sponsor the next year’s Indonesia Open. “BCA is planned to sponsor Indonesia Open [next year], as for the prize money, we will discuss that furhter. We always try to give the best every year. The result was obviously seen from the visitors, we were quite surprised with the supporters appreciation by supporting other foreign players,” said Inge Setiawati, Corporate Secretary Bank Central Asia (BCA).
