Fitriani will play her first round tomorrow, Tuesday (13/6) against Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi. Both players have met twice and Fitriani never won.
At this BIO, Fitriani carries a mission to defeat Cheung. And Fitriani claimed to have prepaperd well this time.
"My preparation was after the Sudirman Cup, I got many lessons to learn and I will use them at the BIO this time. I have prepared ny mentality, my mind, I did many evaluations from the previous results," said Fitriani.
"Especially in shots, I have had a number of variations, hopefully I'll be able to use them all," Fitriani concluded.
Fitriani is one of the badminton players strengthening the Red and White squad at the Sudirman Cup last week, in Gold Coast, Australia. Although Indonesia had to record another poor result due to the defeat in the elimination round, Fitriani's performance in two matches of group facing Pusarla V. Sindhu from India and Mia Blichfeldt from Denmark has its own promising record.
Despite losing to Sindhu, 8-21 and 19-21, Fitriani was at least capable of giving resistance. While facing Mia, Fitriani was able to win and also to ensure Indonesia's 3-1 victory over Denmark after winning 22-24, 21-15 and 21-14.
