JAKARTA - The Senayan Stadium is well known as the noisiest badminton venue. Many athletes are fond of the atmosphere which rarely seen anywhere but here at Istora Senayan Jakarta.

Like a Malaysian women's doubles pair for instance, Vivian Kah Mun Hoo/Khe Wei Woon, who have just succeeded in reaching semifinal at the BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2016. In the semifinal held on Friday evening, (3/6), Vivian/Khe won against an Indonesian pair, Anggia Shitta Awanda/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani, with 21-14 and 21-19.

Although playing with the home supporters' noise at the stadium, that didn't make the Malaysians overwhelmed.

“On the contrary, our opponents were the ones who got the pressure by the chants, and we on the other hand played nothing to lose,” she said.

Vivian/Khe admitted that they are happy playing at Senayan. They like the atmosphere which is full of festive badminton fans. “I am happy to play at Senayan, the crowd is amazing. We also hope we can get such support from the crowd in semifinal,” she said.

This is their first semifinal ever at a superseries premier level tournament. They will face Tang Yuanting/Yu Yang in tomorrow's semifinal (4/6). The third seed pair advanced to semifinal after stunning the #8 seed, Chang Ye Na/Lee So Hee from South Korea with 21-17 and 21-17.
